Metamorphosis

In 2006, as a college student in Boston, I found myself in a creative writing class with an assignment that would change the course of my life. Tasked with writing about someone who inspired me, I chose to delve into the profound influence of my parents, who raised me in the quaint yet historically rich town of Arcadia in rural Louisiana—famously known for the demise of Bonnie and Clyde. The experience was transformative, as my words were shared with the entire class, and the encouragement I received from my teacher to never cease writing echoed in my ears.

Now, fast forward to the present year, 2024. My husband, Michael, and I, Seamus, stand on the precipice of unveiling our collective journey in an online historical autobiography titled "Metamorphosis." This living book will be accessible on our blogs, resonate through our podcast (Lagniappe Podcast), and come to life in videos across all our social media platforms. With each passing day, we'll continue to weave in anecdotal events discovered and remembered, drawing inspiration not only from our own experiences but also from the intriguing tales of our real family relatives uncovered through Ancestry.com.

Our story is one of resilience, guided by a higher power that has given us purpose. Both Michael and I have stared death in the face, overcoming near-fatal accidents, battling through the shadows of alcohol and drug issues, confronting chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and, most recently, grappling with the challenges posed by cancer. Yet, through it all, we have emerged transformed, and now we feel compelled to share our metamorphosis with you.

We invite you to become a part of our extended family, to laugh with us, shed tears with us, and join us for a journey marked by inspiration, insight, reflection, faith, and unwavering love. Together, let us affirm that amidst life's trials and tribulations, family and love have the power to conquer everything. Welcome to "Metamorphosis," where our story becomes a shared tapestry of resilience and triumph.
